FROM Minecraft to folk music festivals, there's an eclectic mix of things to wile away the hours on the Isle of Wight this weekend.
Freshwater Glass Artists have an exhibition at Dimbola Museum and Galleries. Featuring pieces from veterans and amateurs alike, the exhibition is open from 10am until 4pm today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).
At the Apollo Theatre this weekend is a fundraiser in aid of the British Heart Foundation. The Good Old Days variety show is on at 7.30pm this evening (Saturday) and again at 2.30pm tomorrow (Sunday).
Recreating original West End and Broadway musical hits is Beyond the Barricades at Shanklin Theatre. The cast of principal performers from Les Miserables will be putting on their blockbuster show at 7.30pm tonight (Saturday).
There’s a Minecraft drop-in for anyone interested in taking part in the Newport Project, a full size reconstruction of Newport in the computer game Minecraft. head over to Quay Arts between 1pm and 4pm today (Saturday) to get involved or find out more.
It’s the King Lud folk festival this weekend in Ryde. Folk musicians from across the island will be performing all day today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) from 2pm until late.
Catch the final two performance of the Wight Strollers latest pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, today (Saturday) at the Medina Theatre at 2.30pm and again at 7.30pm
Delve into the world of wine with a masterclass at the Royal Hotel Ventnor. Local expert, Matt Whishaw will be presenting the course from 6pm this evening (Saturday). For £55 per person, the evening also includes a full meal with wine specially selected for each dish.
The 25th annual hedge-laying contest is kicking off this morning (Saturday) from 10am until 4pm at New Barn Farm, Calbourne.
Finally, the Starlight Boutique is presenting the Wizard of Oz remastered at the Medina Theatre tomorrow (Sunday) at 11am and again at 4.30pm.
