THE husband of a former Isle of Wight woman found dead at their Newcastle home has admitted killing her, but denies her murder.

Heather Arthur (nee Naylor), 50, was discovered stabbed to death in Woodbine Road, Gosforth, in April.

Appearing at Newcastle Crown Court, Mark Arthur, 49, of Woodbine Road, pleaded guilty to her manslaughter but denied murder.

The plea was not accepted by prosecutors and he will stand trial for murder on September 23.
