I feel I must write about the disgraceful state of residential roads and pavements, and when repairs are made, they are so patchwork they do not last very long.
I am convinced councillors and senior officials in the highways department do not live in the borough, or have trouble with their eyes.
The exorbitant expense on humps, cushions, mini-roundabouts, and road-narrowing which put physical strain on the elderly travelling is unbelievable. Then there are the endless unnecessary road markings, road signs and parking restrictions, which vary from road to road.
Much of this money could have been spent repairing the roads properly. Residents are paying high council tax to put restrictions and discomfort on themselves.
Bexley Council get your priorities right and stop wasting our money.
