BATHING Belles were chased around Cowes by convicts and Alice in Wonderland on Sunday.
They were among scores of people taking part in the Cowes Pram Push, which has been held in the town since 1978.
Last year, organisers were disappointed only seven teams took part and this year they said there were only four.
But one of those who helped stage the event, Painter’s Arms landlady Louise Chiverton, said: "There may have only been four teams but there were up to 15 members in each, so there were more people than ever.
"We again raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support, adding £1,251 to the £1,100 proceeds from our masked ball and it was further boosted by our raffle, which raised about £300."
Fancy dress was again judged by councillor and Cowes Carnival committee member Lynn Hammond and the event again dedicated to the memory of Mez Blackwell, the 39-year-old Painter’s Arms barmaid, who enthusiastically raised funds herself, before her death two years ago from cancer.
