HUNDREDS of people turned out to enjoy the sunshine and the variety of goods and games on offer at the St Clare Hospice annual summer fete on Sunday.

Visitors browsed among a number of stalls which sold everything from plants and jewellery to cakes.

And there was also a craft marquee.

Rock and roll dancers and a dog obedience display entertained the crowds while the children could enjoy a Punch and Judy show.

The hospice's fundraising administrator, Jo Price, said: "Everything went excellently and we were really pleased with the number of people who turned up. There was a really great atmosphere and everyone enjoyed themselves.

"We really appreciate all the help the hospice has received and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part."

The event itself raised about £4,600, with a further £4,300 coming from donations.

The money raised will go towards the hospice's £1m annual running costs.
