Jam is the icing on festival cake

The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton will be on the Isle of Wight for Isle of Arts 2013.

THE mod rock sound of British band The Jam is coming to the Isle of Arts festival, organisers have announced today (Friday).

From the Jam, featuring the band’s original bassist, Bruce Foxton, will close this year’s Ventnor festival with a grand finale show on April 21.

And with a reputation for incendiary live shows and a string of hits by The Jam, including Going Underground, Beat Surrender and Town Called Malice, they are sure to put on a great show in the festival marquee.

A driving force in The Jam’s rhythm section, Foxton spent 15 years with another seminal British band, Stiff Little Fingers.

He will be joined by Russell Hastings, a collaborator of The Jam drummer Rick Buckler. Fans of the British new wave, ska and mod revival scenes are in for a treat, as From the Jam will take to the stage following a performance by The Skatonics.

They will be unleashing some classic sounds from the 1960s and 2 Tone era of the 1970s and 80s.
