Lewisham residents are now able to pay their council tax, business rates and housing rents via the Internet.
They can do this by debit and credit card.
Residents can make their payments at the councils new website payment page.
The page is located at, www.lewisham.gov.uk. You can gain access after clicking on "your council" at the top of the page.
A council spokesman said payment pages "are located on a secure and encrypted part of the web server".
"Once a transaction is made via the payment page and processed, the card details will not be held."
