A CAMPAIGN to raise £100,000 for a pioneering cancer treatment for an Isle of Wight teenager has reached the halfway point after just two weeks.

Simon Ellis, dad to 13-year-old Joe Ellis, said the family have been left 'absolutely blown away' by the generosity of those on and off the Island as the total reached just over £52,000 today (Monday).

He added: "It is brilliant, absolutely fantastic that after just 16 days this much has been raised.

"There's lots of fundraising stuff still going on and lots of people still donating. It's amazing."

Fundraising for Joe has taken on many forms including egging police officers, selling loom bands, danceathons and live music events.
