ALISON Moyet will star alongside Jools Holland at Ryde Arena on April 23.
One of Britain’s biggest female solo stars of the Eighties, Moyet will perform with Jools’s full Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.
Moyet became famous at 21, as singer in Yazoo, and two years later released her multi-million selling solo debut, Alf.
Self-penned hits like Love Resurrection, Is This Love and All Cried Out confirmed her gift as a songwriter, as well as a top performer. She won Brit Awards, performed at Live Aid and toured worldwide.
Performances and albums followed and, in 2009, Sony released a Best Of to celebrate her 25 years as a solo artist. She followed up with a sell-out tour in November and December last year.
Annie Horne, of promoter Green Eye Events, said "Jools always engages with his audience and, with the back catalogue Alison Moyet has, this will ensure the arena audience will be in for a very special treat."
Also announced, as support, are the Brighton-based Passenger, who released their debut album, Wicked Man’s Rest, in 2007. It was championed by Radio 1’s Jo Whiley and Q Magazine.
• Tickets are available from the arena, via the ticket hotline on 0871 376 1000, online through Wightlink and in person at The Blacksheep Bar, Ryde, Visual Impact (Men’s), Newport, and all Island tourist information centres.
