YOUNGSTERS at Carisbrooke Primary School were given a special lesson by a TV celebrity.
Kirstie Allsopp, star of Channel 4’s Location Location Location and more recently, Kirstie’s Homemade Home and Kirstie’s Handmade Britain, spent time with the children making specially crafted jewellery boxes.
Kirstie visited the Isle of Wight and showed reception class pupil, Amy Clarke and her sister, Daisy-May, who is in Year 2, how to produce the stylish boxes.
The boxes will be taken home by the children and used in their home, which will also feature in the programme.
Deputy headteacher, Mark Richards, said: "It was wonderful to have Kirstie at school and I even think a few teachers were a bit starstruck."
On her way to the Isle of Wight, Kirstie tweeted: "Today I am crafting on the Isle of Wight, birthplace of my Granny and her sister, Cath Kidston’s Granny."
The tweet was in reference to designer and businesswoman, Cath Kidston, who is Kirstie’s cousin.
Kirstie’s TV programme is set to air on Channel 4 in October.
