The Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) proposed by Barnet Council [in North Finchley] will turn all the roads in the CPZ into 'car parks', earning considerable revenue for the council.

Parking spaces currently available to residents will also be lost. The CPZ will be zoned.

A resident with a permit for one zone will not be allowed legally to park in another zone. Whole areas of the borough will thus be denied to us.

Parking is becoming a serious problem but I do not believe that the CPZ will help the residents.

I believe that we should not, as residents, council tax and vehicle excise tax payers, be expected to pay an additional fee to park outside our homes.

The council should instead provide additional car parks to allow for the demand.

I urge readers to consider all the implications of this proposed scheme fully before saying 'yes' on the council questionnaire.
