DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses and information following an aggravated burglary in Moor Park on Tuesday, December 4.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.45pm in Russell Road, Northwood, as a 51-year-old woman returned to her home address.

She was confronted at the front door by three black men, one of whom was armed with a knife which had a curved blade.

The offenders threatened the victim, and forced her to hand over valuable jewellery and personal items from within the house.

They then made off in an unknown direction.

The three offenders have been described as black men, all taller than 6ft and wearing hooded clothing.

It is thought the suspects may have been waiting in a vehicle nearby prior to the offence, although there are no details of the make or model of the vehicle.

Detectives are arranging a leaflet drop in the surrounding area appealing for witnesses and information from those living nearby.

Detective Constable Helen Barrett, investigating the offence, said: "The victim was uninjured, but obviously very shaken by this incident.

"I would like to speak to anyone who has any information, and could assist with our investigation, or who may have seen the suspects' vehicle in the area before the offence."

Anyone with information, and any witnesses, can contact DC Barrett or DC Iain MacPherson in the Western Area Crime Unit on 01923 472065. Alternatively, ring Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
