Will Bossman with a suitcase similar to the one which is missing.
A CASE of mistaken identity has led a Northwood law graduate to appeal from Bangladesh for his lost belongings.
Will Bossman, 22, of Coronation Avenue, got off the Red Jet on his way to Heathrow Airport on January 12, when he discovered his black suitcase had been mistaken for a similar one.
Despite his best attempts to track down the person who took his case, believed to be a woman, Will ended up handing in the other case to Southampton Central Police Station.
He continued his journey to Heathrow with his passport, wallet and the clothes he was wearing, to catch his connecting flight to Dhaka, where he is teaching at an English school.
Will said: "The bag left behind had a large pink band around it, which I presume was to prevent things like this happening.
"I overheard the lady with that bag say she was going to Argentina for four weeks but it seems unlikely she would have travelled all the way with it, as I think she would have realised something was amiss at check-in."
Will’s suitcase contained nothing of sentimental value, although it had a number of valuable law books in it, plus university coursework and a selection of cheeses.
He estimated the value of the contents at about £1,000.
Will said: "It was quite strange travelling so far with so little.
"Though the situation was initially frustrating, it has been interesting realising how little you need to get by, day-to-day.
"That said, I would be very relieved to get the case back."
