Licence dodgers

TV LICENSING has revealed more than 140 people were caught watching TV without a licence on the Isle of Wight during the first six months of 2012.

They are among more than 204,000 people caught across the UK during the first half of this year. The average evasion rate remains at a low of just over five per cent, meaning that almost 95 per cent of properties are correctly licensed. The figures relate to January to June 2012 and are based on information from the Royal Mail’s postcode address file.

Licence dodgers risk prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000.

I don't mind paying for the BBC because (in addition to the rubbish) there are some high quality shows. But I do object to having my TV licensed - why not just do it all on a pay per view basis. That way at least I have the comfort of knowing that I am not paying for EastEnders, which frankly keeps me awake at night under the current system.

Not a fan then James?
I love the way they think that having more "presenters" than athletes at the Olympics will make for a better experience for the viewer.
It was a similar situation with the Queens Jubilee and the headless chicken/flavour of the year that is Matt Baker heading an army of buffoons in various locations around London talking absolute nonsense.
The BBC is getting more and more like its idol, The European Union, in the way is is growing more frogspawn in the pond at the taxpayers expense.
Could the next DG be Cleggie, the doyen of money wasting projects?
