MEMBERS of Sandown and Shanklin’s Independent Lifeboat used their tractor to clear debris from the revetment after a cliff collapse during storm St Jude.
One beach hut had to be knocked down following the collapse which took place as gusts of wind of up to 99mph hit parts of the Isle of Wight this morning (Monday).
The lifeboat base also lost its telephone line during the storm and a pole carrying a power cable to the headquarters was also damaged.
