SANDOWN and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat came to the aid of an injured man on Shanklin beach today (Tuesday).
The lifeboat was called to help the man, who had a suspected broken leg, opposite the Esplanade clock tower.
The lifeboat crew was first on scene and administered first aid. Ventnor Coastguard also attended.
Paramedics arrived and the man was taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
A spokesman for Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat said: "We would like to thank the public and the longshore men that assisted in making this a quick rescue."
