Lifeboat tows vessel to safety

A FISHING boat was towed to Bembridge Harbour by the Bembridge RNLI lifeboat last night (Tuesday) evening after experiencing engine failure.

The 38ft vessel, Wight Thyme, with a three men on board, reported engine problems just after 6pm when it was around one mile south east of the Ledge buoy off Bembridge.

The vessel was taken in tow by the lifeboat as the engine problem could not be resolved at sea and was returned back to its home harbour of Bembridge.
