A SPECTACULAR display featuring shooting stars, snowmen, and even a ski slope leading to a frozen fishing pond, will raise money for charity this Christmas.

Tony Meaning, 71, of Victoria Road, Yarmouth, has been decorating his garden for 14 years and, for the last six years, has raised money for Yarmouth Guides and Brownies.

He said: "We used to live in Cranmore Avenue in the 70s and it was really dark there, so we thought we would brighten the place up with our display and have carried it on in Yarmouth. We decided to raise money because our granddaughters — Ashleen, 18, Tara, 16, and Kiera, 12 — have all been in the guides and brownies growing up.

"This year, we have our seven-month-old collie, Toby, and he is very inquisitive with the lights, but we can't let him near them because he would chew through the wires."

Over the years the display has raised nearly £700.

This display can be seen at the Meaning family home, Redwood.
