POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a couple stole leather jackets worth more than £750 from Marks and Spencer in Barnet Road, London Colney, on Thursday, February 21.

The couple entered the store at 5.45pm and browsed before heading towards the stand of leather jackets. There, the female suspect distracted the sales assistant while the man picked up four leather jackets and left the store making no attempt to pay.

The woman then joined her accomplice in the car park and the couple drove away in an unknown vehicle.

The woman is described as white, around 5ft 4in tall, of slim build and pale. She had a slightly spotty complexion and was wearing a dark jacket, baseball cap, grey tracksuit bottoms and had a local accent.

The man is also white, about 5ft 8in tall and of average build. He had shaven dark hair, and was wearing a hooded jacket and tracksuit bottoms.
