LITERARY luminaries from all genres are set to attend a new Isle of Wight Literary Festival this autumn.
Names confirmed for the festival so far include Louis de Bernieres, Gyles Brandreth and Anneka Rice and organisers say other big names are still to come.
The event is sponsored by Red Funnel and is being held at Northwood House, raising funds for the historic building’s restoration, as well as the Trinity Theatre and several other Cowes venues.
Organisers say the October 12 to 14 festival builds on a long history of poets and writers over the centuries who have found inspiration from the Island.
The line-up also includes Celia Imrie, Amy Willcock, Claudia Hammond, Brough Scott, Fidelis
Morgan, Patrick Gale, Rafaella Barker, Ann and Anthony Thwaite, Sarah
Lang, Verrall Dunlop, Toby Young, Ellie Turner, Juliet Cadzow and Lauren
Henderson, who will also appear as her alias, Rebecca Chance.
There will be bus tours and story walks to children’s shows, drama workshops and story-writing competitions.
