LOOM band fans have been invited to back an Isle of Wight-based charity on Saturday.

Roll Out the Barrel, which helps with clean water solutions in developing countries, is hosting a loom band competition between 11am and 3pm in St Thomas’ Square, Newport.

Prizes, including a £15 gift voucher donated by toy store The Entertainer, will be on offer for the most innovative and exciting designs.

Loom bands and the materials to make them will be provided on the day, and completed designs can be donated to ROTB to be sent to children in developing countries.

Anna Newton, project administrator for Roll Out the Barrel, said: "We're looking forward to seeing who can come up with the most innovative design."

There is no entry free to the competition, but donations will be welcomed on the day.
