HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS 3 - DULWICH HAMLET 1.

A wickedly-deflected goal in first half injury time put Dulwich on the way to another unfortunate defeat at Heybridge.

Hamlet started well and created three good chances through Chris James, Luke Anderson and Steve Restarick and the early pressure was rewarded when they took the lead in the 33rd minute.

A speedy break down the right hand flank saw Dean Holness cross for Restarick to fire the visitors ahead. Heybridge responded well but just as it looked like Dulwich would hold on until the break the home side struck.

Giant centre half Mark Keen took advantage of some slack marking and rose to head home the equaliser in the 44th minute. Then with Dulwich looking to regroup at half time Heybridge scored again. This time Darren Williams was completely wrong-footed as a long range shot which he seemed to have covered took a cruel deflection and ended in the back of the net.

Heybridge grew in confidence from their lucky break and quickly added a third after the restart when Neal Docking headed in from a corner.

But Dulwich could have taken a point after dominating the final 15 minutes. Luke Anderson had a goal strangely disallowed for offside and Dulwich forced the Swifts keeper into a string of fine saves but the fightback proved too little too late.

Dulwich face Purfleet at Champion Hill on Saturday.
