TOP talent from the Island competed in the annual Medina High School Battle of the Bands final last night (Thursday).

Up for grabs was the honour of playing on the main stage at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, sharing a bill with the likes of The Prodigy, Stereophonics and Neil Young.

That slot went to The Majortones, cheered on by a sizeable crowd at Newport's Medina Theatre.
