A PAIR of burglars stole valuable furnishings worth £1,600 from the marriage room at Bexley's register office in a daring daylight robbery.
The duo propped open the rear fire door at the Manor House in The Green, Sidcup, and grabbed the items, including a four-foot mahogany plant stand, and carried them down to their car.
One of the thieves was distinctively dressed in a blue suit and Hawaiian shirt and had permed dark brown hair.
Police believe he is the one who walked through the public building and opened the fire door, which leads onto the staff car park at about 2.30pm on January 21.
The men stole a gold- framed crafted mirror worth £800, a £600 reproduction mahogany lectern and the mahogany plant stand worth £200.
It is believed the men stashed their haul in a blue Datsun Cherry car with a registration number beginning with H, parked nearby. The car has been connected with other matters in Kent involving antique furniture. Both men are white and aged about 40. If you can help, call PC Steve Edwards on 020 8284 9154.
