A MAN has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of criminal damage after thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to vehicles in the Carisbrooke Park area of the Isle of Wight.
Police said a sharp instrument was used to slash the tyres of 37 vehicles in Purdy Road, Kinchington Road, Nightingale Road, Westmill Street, Mountbatten Drive, Hinton Road, The Finches and Wellington Road.
Two cars in Purdy Road had all four tyres punctured in the latest attack, at the end of last month.
Insp Andy McDonald, of the Newport Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: "Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused to car owners in this small residential area of Carisbrooke.
"This includes a number of repeat victims who have suffered a significant financial burden because of these crimes.
"Local Safer Neighbourhoods team has made house-to-house enquiries but I am asking residents to be vigilant and report anything suspicious or any information relating to the incident to us on 101."
