A MAN was allegedly attacked with a metal pole in the early hours of yesterday (Monday).
An Isle of Wight police spokesman said they were appealing for witnesses after it was alleged a man was assaulted by two men using a metal pole in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.
"The 31-year-old victim from Shanklin received head injuries, which are serious but not life threatening. He went to hospital and was later discharged.
"The assault is reported to have taken place in Regent Street at around 2.40am on Monday," said police.
Investigating officer DC Katy Lee of Isle of Wight CID said: "We would particularly like to speak with a woman seen walking into nearby Clarendon Road at this time.
"Detectives are pursuing several lines of enquiry. There is nothing to suggest that other members of the public are at risk."
