Man charged for carrying knife and blades

A MAN arrested by armed police for carrying a knife and blades near the Co-op in Lake on Tuesday afternoon has been charged.

Ricky Gareth Tegg, 33, of Shanklin, was given police bail to appear before Island magistrates on Friday, July 20.

A police armed response vehicle and one of its Targeted Patrol teams was called to the scene at 5.28pm on Tuesday following public concerns about the suspect’s behaviour.

He was arrested at the scene at 5.45pm by armed officers.
