Man in court after reports of disturbance

POLICE, including armed officers, were called to reports of a disturbance in Chale on Saturday.

A spokesman today (Tuesday) confirmed officers were called to the address at Blythe Shute, Chale, at around 1.30pm.

Daniel Paul Layton, 31 of Worcester Road, Newport was arrested and charged with several offences.

He appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates yesterday (Monday) and was released on conditional bail to appear for trial at the same court on March 18.
