Man rescued from water off Cowes

A MAN was rescued from water off Cowes seafront in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

A spokesman for Cowes RNLI Lifeboat said crews launched the inshore lifeboat at around 5am after reports the man, who was in his 20s, was in difficulty near the Green.

Crews took the man to Trinity Landing before members of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service transferred him to St Mary's Hospital, Newport.

The spokesman said the man appeared to have no physical injuries.
