Man stabbed in the neck

AN ISLE of Wight man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) after he was stabbed in the neck.

Police and ambulance crews were called to an address in Trevanions Way, Totland, at 3.22am, where they found the wounded 36-year-old man.

He was taken to St Mary's Hospital, where the wound to his neck was stitched.

A spokesman for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust said the man remained in hospital for several hours, in a stable condition, and was discharged later this morning.

* Police have confirmed a 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent. He remains in custody.
