Mark King goes back to school

COMMUNITY spirit paved the way for pop legend Mark King to open four new rooms at the Little Love Lane Pre-School in Cowes, on Tuesday.

The pre-school shares the old Love Lane School site with the Isle of Wight Foodbank, although the rooms have been completely separated.

Manager Kim Chapman said the new rooms would allow them to increase the number of children attending.

She said: "We have received a lot of community support. Parents and staff have given up their weekends and bank holidays to get it ready."

Numerous businesses have leant their support, including Wight Energy, Wight Fibre and 4448 Solutions.

Isle of Wight music legend and Level 42 frontman Mark King was invited to open the new rooms, which cost £4,000 to refurbish.

Kim said: "He was lovely. He was really interested and he looked around all the rooms. Mark opened Lanesend Primary School, who we work with very closely, so I thought it would be nice."
