FASHIONED from flowerpots and designed by a nine-year-old, Alium Titchmarsh was introduced to his namesake on Thursday last week when the celebrity gardener visited Mottistone Manor.
The Flowerpot Trail has become one of the most popular features at the National Trust property and Alium became the ninth member of a flowerpot family, which also features Darth Spader and Shallot Church.
Alium was designed by Jack Atkins-Smith, of Yarmouth, who visited the gardens last year.
His design was chosen by head gardener Robert Moore, who selects a new flowerpot person each year to be made for the trail.
Heather Bradshaw, National Trust assistant property manager for the Island, said: "Alan really liked Alium, he thought it was a good likeness.
"He met the gardeners, Robert and assistant Ed Hinch, and said he was amazed two gardeners could create such a garden," she said.
