KICKING off with an explosive performance of The Bartender and the Thief, it didn't take long for Stereophonics to establish their rock credentials with the festival's Saturday night crowd.

This is a band with an impressive back catalogue and they certainly made the most of it with a headline set featuring hits including Boy in the Photograph, Thousand Trees, Dakota, Just Looking and Pick a Part That's New.

After the dance party that was Friday night, the crowd appreciated a good old-fashioned rock band, clad in black in front of a funky light show, who knew how to deliver the goods..

They followed Razorlight, another guitar band who also brought out the hits.

Wearing a T-shirt proclaiming: "I could do this blindfolded" frontman Johnny Borrell brought his usual swagger to the performance, which featured  Golden Touch, America, Before I Fall To Pieces and Somewhere Else.

It was an indie rock kind of night on the main stage, with performances earlier in the day from Maximo Park, White Lies, the View and the Rifles.

Sixties pop band the Zombies, Sharon Corr and the Yeah You's also played after IW band Majortones opened.

The Big Top went pop quite literally when thousands upon thousands of fans piled in to see Will Young and Mcfly. In a set full of crowd interaction,

Young played hit after hit and provided plenty of entertainment along the way. Mcfly followed with an exhilarating set which featured sing along songs like It's All About You and Obviously.

High energy and full of fun, a more than full capacity Big Top responded in similar style, with the band's infectious pop lyrics ringing out around the Strawberry Fields site.

With the Big Top already full to the brim, revellers were forced to settle for a spot outside when hit DJ Calvin Harris took to the stage.

His electrifying performance was followed by the highly visual shows of electro pop group Ultravox and later the Australian Pink Floyd..

It wasn't just the musical entertainment that caught people's eye for the Red Arrows were on hand to provide yet another spectacular display, which provided the ultimate climax to a beautiful summer's day.
