David Tracy's letter advised caution before ticking yes on the council's questionnaire (CPZs are bad...', Times Letters, February 7).
However, the question on the questionnaire is not 'Are you in favour of a CPZ?', but 'Would you be in favour of your road being included in a CPZ?'.
This question implies that a CPZ has already been decided on by the council.
If one votes in favour of one's particular road being excluded from a CPZ while being surrounded by roads that are included in it, the residents in that road presumably would not be entitled to parking permits but would find any parking places continuously filled by people who are not residents.
Implementation of the scheme therefore seems inevitable unless almost every road in the proposed scheme votes against it.
