Norbury library's popular pilot homework club re-opens on Tuesday, September 8.

The free club at the library in Beatrice Road offers 10 to 14-year-olds the chance to study with access to a whole range of information as well as specialist help from two trained helpers.

The club, which has received a grant from The Prince's Trust, is sponsored by Croydon-based plastic housewares and gardenwares firm, the Stewart Company.

Chairman of Croydon Council's education committee, Hugh Malyan, said he was glad the club would be running for at least another two years. He said: "It is often difficult for youngsters to study at home. Now they can pop into the library which provides them with the right environment to work and access a wealth of information and resources. There will also be a friendly face who will offer them extra help to find the information they need."

It is open term time on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm, Saturdays from 1.30pm to 4.30pm and also during half term breaks and the Easter holidays. Details 0181 679 1597.
