BEACONSFIELD'S own father of tennis Howard Naish returned to the tennis club he founded in 1957 for a surprise 90th birthday party.
Fond friends and family gathered at Beaconsfield Tennis Club in Caledon Road, Beaconsfield, to wish the best to their President following a special three hour tournament in the pouring rain in his honour.
Fiona Brown, social secretary, said: "Howard has always taken a huge interest over the past 50 years.
"He lives around the corner and makes it to all the home matches.
"As a founder we wanted to make it really special."
Mr Naish, who is also vice-president of Beaconsfield Cricket Club and Beaconsfield's Trees and Town Group, enjoyed himself on the day.
He said: "The club is going strong and we have a particularly strong junior section.
"We have been the biggest club in Beaconsfield I founded it with Pat Thorp in 1957.
"The party was a real surprise I thought it was just going to be a normal lunch. What a turnout!"
