TV GARDENER Monty Don entertained the crowd as this year's Isle of Arts got underway last night (Friday).

The Gardeners' World presenter spoke about what goes on behind the scenes, as well as his travels to some of the world's most celebrated gardens, in front of a sold out audience.

The festival continued today with a foodie walk by Isle of Wight restaurant critics Matt and Cat and Virginia Ironside's Growing Old Disgracefully talk.

Poet and broadcaster Roger McGough and Tenors UnLimited are due to perform this evening (Saturday), while entertainment tomorrow (Sunday) includes a sold out show by the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain.

On Monday the festival will close with entertainment including the critically-acclaimed parody The Only Way is Downton.
