Let's not be coy about the numbers here. The IW Council's budget "consultation", which it deems to be an attempt to "involve local residents", comprised five budget workshops attracting a total of 86 people. That's an average of 17 per meeting. The online budget simulator was completed by 120 respondents with 45 (37 per cent) of these identified as being from council staff themselves.... And some of County Hall's most vociferous apologists have the audacity to dismiss the recent State Of The Island meeting as unrepresentative of Island opinion.
