SUMMER Madness may have only just wrapped up, but organisers are already looking ahead to next year’s event.
Promoter John Curd said the open-air show at Carisbrooke Fields, which has played host to ska pop legends Madness and modfather Paul Weller over the past two years, would be back for a third outing. Although it was not a sell out, Mr Curd said he was pleased with this year’s show.
"Summer Madness was, once again, a success for us and we’re really happy with how things went for the second year running," he said.
"All the acts that played got a great reception from the crowd and everyone I spoke to had a brilliant day.
"The Bees were on top form, playing their home turf, and the new material went down a treat. Paul Weller was absolutely brilliant and really ended the day with a bang but, for me, the stand-out performance of the day was Imelda May. I was blown away by her performance and can confidently predict she is going places."
