I AM writing in response to a recent letter concerning the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
I fully agree that the increase of nearly 75 per cent in the price of a permit is outrageous. How does Haringey Council justify this especially when it was reported in this paper that Haringey has one of the worst records for collection of unpaid parking tickets?
As a resident living just off the High Road, I resent having to pay £50 per year to park outside my own house. The CPZ in the High Road area has made little difference to parking for residents, it is as bad as ever. It seems Haringey has realised it is on to a money spinner and is taking full advantage of it.
