The director of a Borehamwood firm which went bankrupt with debts of more than £1.6m has been banned from being a director or manager for three years.

Worldcall Plc was based at Elstree Gate, in Elstree Way, when it was wound up in April 1988, owing an estimated £1,606,261.

The firm's director Francine Shera Rosen has agreed not to hold directorships, or take any part in company management, for three years. Her undertaking was accepted by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.

The case against Mrs Rosen was handled under new provisions of the Insolvency Act, which meant she was banned without involving the courts.

Mrs Rosen did not dispute that she caused Worldcall to continue trading knowing it was bankrupt, from January 1997 until March 1998, according to The Insolvency Service, an executive agency of The Department of Trade and Industry.
