I am just writing to say thank you for your article about the cost of living in London ( 'City of fool's gold' Times, Feb 14).
It's long overdue that the powers that be recognised that for many people it is practically impossible to hold a job and live in London.
The people who really suffer are the so-called key workers. I write as a nurse. I have been working in a hospital for a number of years but my pay is still such that I cannot afford to buy my own home.
I have to admit that sometimes when I yet again have to tell the kids that they can't have something their friends at school have got I think about chucking it in and doing something else for a living and leaving London.
But, I am committed to my job and where would I go? So please give us a pay rise and up London weighting.
