MUCH has been written in the Citizen over the past few months about the lack of democracy in Church Langley.

Harlow District Council has got the power to contact the Secretary of State directly to propose electoral changes. It has failed to do so.

May I also point out that many years ago, Harlow Council transferred a seat from one ward to another in order to correct the

electoral imbalance, thus establishing a precedent? I was a member of the council at the time.

The Harlow Council then believed in democracy, now it is all about power. It is all very sad.

Church Langley is very likely to vote Conservative. This council wants no opposition.

JOCK ARNOTT,

Church Langley.
