Elliott Star let their hair down when Cuffley came to town on Saturday, scoring 11 goals and keeping a clean sheet into the bargain.

Star captain Stu Love won the toss for Star and decided to play into a near gale force wind. From the kick-off Cuffley went on the attack and should have scored when their number eight put the ball over the bar from 20 yards out.

Star then settled and central defenders Day and Griggs kept Cuffley at bay. After five minutes Paul Cooper found himself all alone in the centre circle and put a great ball over the Cuffley defence for Ian Cooper to beat the keeper to the ball and slide it home.

Cuffley attacked again, but the Star defence frustrated the Cuffley forwards. Paul Cooper then got fouled just inside the Cuffley half and his header from the resulting free kick went just wide of the goal.

Matt Lennon made a run up the left wing for Star, although his super low cross went begging. Buss, on the opposite wing, went on a gallop and crossed to Ian Cooper, whose tame shot went into the Cuffley keeper's arms.

Great work then followed by the two Coopers, when Ian put Paul through and his shot gave the Cuffley keeper no chance and put Star 2-0 ahead.

In the second half Danny Wicks came on for the injured Stu Love and, from the whistle, Jones went on a run, cut in and unleashed a shot which shook the bar and, from the rebound, Paul Cooper headed over.

Paul Cooper then latched onto a long ball which he fed to Ian Cooper, who slotted it home to make it 3-0 to Star.

A minute after Plumb lobbed a clever ball forward, which split the Cuffley defence, and Ian Cooper rounded the keeper to see Star go into a commanding 4-0 lead.

Danny Wicks got in on the act, when Paul Cooper missed a header and the ball bobbled about the Cuffley area and he hit an unstoppable shot to make it five.

Adam Bell replaced Paul Cooper, who had given his all in the pursuit of every loose ball. Bell then set Jones up, after some fancy footwork by Ian Cooper, and he slid the ball under the diving keeper for Star's sixth.

Buss saw his shot go over the Cuffley keeper's clawing hands and drop in the back of the net to make it 7-0.

Jones then laid the ball offf in a congested Cuffley penalty area and Plumb went on a zig-zagging run to hit home the goal of the game.

Ian Cooper added another goal and Star manager Renphrey came on to replace Plumb. Ian Cooper, never far from the action, then put the ball over the Cuffley defence and Jones shot home to make it 10-0 to Star. Jones scored Star's eleventh with the last shot of the game.
