A NEW bus service has been introduced between Shanklin and Ventnor.
As part of a plan to improve links to Shanklin Station, Island Line and Southern Vectis have introduced extra buses, following the withdrawal of a Wightbus service earlier this month.
The Southern Vectis service 3 will run seven days a week, providing a direct service to Ventnor and Wroxall.
Combined bus and train tickets will be available for Island Line passengers who want to travel beyond Shanklin Station, where the rail service terminates.
The news was welcomed by the Isle of Wight Bus Users Group chairman Stuart George who said he hoped it would lead to greater co-operation between public transport operators in other parts of the Island.
