PLANNING applications will be judged quicker according to Sevenoaks councillors
Sevenoaks District Councils planning and transport committee agreed on a plan to accelerate the process.
This was after reports showed it is not meeting the Governments targets.
Even though the number of planning applications which were processed within eight weeks of receipt improved greatly during the last year, the council is still processing less than 65 per cent of applications in time.
Planning and transport committee chairman Councillor Gill Davison said: I recognise the people of Sevenoaks are also very concerned with the quality of all decisions we make.
We will not compromise quality while working on quantity.
