SPECULATION is mounting that the former headteacher of Carisbrooke College, Shaheen Kahn-Jones, is set to be appointed as the new headteacher of Sandown Bay Academy. The surprise move comes after Mrs Kahn-Jones quit her job at Carisbrooke College in March after just one year in post. At the time, she said she wished to return to the mainland in order to be closer to her family and to work in a city environment.A spokesman for the Academies Enterprise Trust, which runs Sandown Bay Academy, refused to be drawn on whether Mrs Kahn-Jones had been appointed to the job, made vacant by Sandown’s principal, John Bradshaw who is set to leave the school at the end of this term. However, the spokesman said a letter would be sent out to parents this afternoon concerning ‘staffing’ issues.
