Norfolk FA 0 Hertfordshire FA 3.

(East Anglian Counties Intermediate Championship).

Hertfordshire finally got through this twice postponed game with a comfortable 3-0 win to lift them into second place in the championship.

Play was evenly balanced in the first half and thanks to good defensive work by both teams chances were limited.

The visitors turned things round just before half-time, taking the lead through David Wren who struck home a 25-yard shot after some good skill.

Norfolk started the second half intent on getting the equaliser but the Hertfordshire defence stood firm.

James Anderson, making his debut for the senior side, made it 2-0 for Hertfordshire and Stuart Smith added the third.

Cambridgeshire have already won the championship for the second year, but Hertfordshire will finish runners-up providing Essex do not beat Huntingdon by seven goals in their final game.
