New information wanted by police

Friday, June 3, 2011 - 8:10

A NEW appeal has been launched urging people with information about Damien Nettle’s disappearance to come forward.
Police said the intermittent flow of information since Damien went missing in 1996, suggested members of the public had knowledge about what happened to him.
Five people were arrested on May 10 — four Island men and a Kent man — on suspicion of murdering Damien. The four Island men remain on bail until Wednesday and the Kent man is on bail until Thursday.
The search for Damien’s body in marshland near the Newport to Cowes cycle track led to a number of items being recovered, which are now being examined.
Police said the Nettles family continued to display tremendous tenacity and courage in campaigning to encourage witnesses and assistance from the community.
Anyone with information can call Hampshire Constabulary on 101, or 0845 045 45 45.
Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
The Missing People charity (formerly the National Missing Persons Helpline) can be contacted in confidence on freephone 0500 700 700.
