ANOTHER review of police stations on the Island is to be launched.
But the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office denied any decisions had been taken amid rumours Shanklin would be axed as a police base, having already closed to the public.
A spokesman said: “Shanklin police office will remain as a response base and there are no plans to make changes to it at this time.
“Following the revised estate strategy, which will launch soon, a review will be conducted of all the policing estate on the Island.”
Newport is now the only police station on the Island open to the public.
